The Lion and the Lamb

An Introduction to the Study of the Lion of Daniel 7.

“O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: ‘Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?’ And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:25-27)

After His resurrection, Jesus walked with two disheartened disciples on the road to Emmaus. (Luke 24) They had failed to see that Christ must die in order to restore all things. They had believed that the Messiah was supposed to take over the kingdom on earth right there in Jerusalem. But instead of fulfilling their misbegotten hopes, He died on the Cross.

In a way they were right, because all “the kingdoms of this world will be given to our Lord and to His Christ and He shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15 paraphrased) But this work cannot be completed until the final Seal has been opened, the Seventh Trumpet has sounded and the Final Atonement has been made—when Christ has presented to His Father a people who have at last been restored to oneness with God’s Law and His kingdom.

And so Jesus comforted these disciples and opened to them in Scripture all things from Moses to the Prophets that had been revealed about Him. And their hearts burned within them as He spoke.

How many of us have longed to hear these same words from the lips of our Saviour? Today you can begin that journey. Come, let us join Jesus on that walk to Emmaus and let Him open some of these beautiful Scriptures as we discover the truth about the Lion of Daniel 7.

But on Thursday May 23, 3 days before the wave sheaf, the heads were full and the field was almost ready for the harvest.

The Bible tell us the month begins later than you think. Find out why.
